Casablanca Clarifies Parking Fees Amid Concerns Over Attendant Practices

The issue of parking and attendant fees is at the heart of the concerns of the Municipality of Casablanca. Through a video communication, Mohamed Bourrahim, the Vice-President of the City Council in charge of mobility and transport, provided some clarifications.
He explained during his presentation that there are two types of vehicle parking in Casablanca. "The first consists of places managed by the Local Development Company Casablanca Développement with parking meters, in Roches Noires, Sidi Belyout, Anfa and Maârif, at a rate of 2 DH/hour". As for the second type of parking, "it includes the places rented by the municipality in the rest of the districts".
According to the clarifications of Mohamed Bourrahim, "the rate, by municipal fiscal decree, is set at 3 DH for passenger vehicles, 5 DH for trucks and 2 DH for bicycles, motorized or not. And these rates are "valid for any period of parking, and can increase at night".
