Ferry Company Boosts Fleet for Busy Morocco-Spain Summer Crossing Season

As part of the Marhaba operation starting in a few days, the FRS Iberia Maroc company will deploy numerous connections. In total, 27 daily rotations are planned from Tanger Ville, Tanger Med, Tarifa, Ceuta and Algeciras to connect the two shores of the strait.

This system includes a renovated fleet, a new fast ferry, strengthened human capital and new arrangements for ticket purchases in accordance with the instructions of the Moroccan port authorities, according to a company press release, which announces that during the Covid-19 period, maintenance work has been carried out on the entire fleet and the interior and exterior of all fast ferries have been renovated.

The company claims to have acquired a seventh vessel, the Levante Jet. "It is the most modern fast ferry in the strait, with the latest generation stabilizers and low fuel consumption," the group explains.

Thus, for the Marhaba 2022 operation, FRS Iberia Maroc adds to its fleet a daily capacity of 672 passengers and 160 vehicles, bringing its total daily capacity to 18,054 passengers and 4,631 vehicles, with 27 daily rotations. No less than 1,027 people are mobilized for this new operation, to ensure the proper functioning of all the shipowner’s services, the company adds.

In order to comply with the new requirements of the port authorities to have a ticket before accessing the port, FRS Iberia Maroc offers the possibility to book tickets through its various sales platforms. "All tickets can easily be modified without any additional fees," it assures.
