Italian Shipping Company Expands Fleet for Moroccan Diaspora Summer Return

The Italian maritime shipping company, Grandi Navi Veloci (GNV), is launching a fifth ship to facilitate the return to Morocco of Moroccans residing abroad (MRE) as part of the Marhaba 2022 operation.
This fifth ship, which will serve the Moroccan lines with two or three trips per week, will strengthen the connections between Genoa-Tangier, Sète-Tangier, Sète-Nador, Barcelona-Tangier and Barcelona-Nador, GNV said in a statement. The company has also introduced two round trips from/to Civitavecchia (Rome) for Tanger Med. This should facilitate the return to Morocco of the community from southern Italy.
Launched on June 15 after two years of cancellation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Marhaba 2022 Operation includes a fleet plan, coordination plans, security and traffic plans, as well as health and social assistance measures, with particular attention paid to the health crisis.
