Family Demands Justice for Moroccan Man Killed After Violent Attack in Majorca

Monday 29 November 2021, by Prince

The family of Mohamed, the young Moroccan who died on Friday in Majorca after being the victim of a violent attack in July, is demanding justice.

"They can sentence my brother’s killer to 200 years in prison, but no one will take away the pain of his death. What happened to Mohamed was savage. We can only ask for justice, but no one will give it back to us," said Hafid, Mohamed’s brother, victim of a violent attack in Cales in Majorca, and who died last Friday at the Son Espases hospital where he had been admitted since his attack in July.

"He woke up and opened his eyes, but he never spoke another word. These last few months have been difficult for the family. My brother has a 4-year-old son and he loved spending time with him. He also loved to swim," added Hafid, thanking the community for the solidarity expressed towards his family.

"We want justice to be done, even if in reality we know that, no matter what sentence is imposed on the killer, no one will give us back Mohamed," he stressed, before saluting the work of "the nurses and doctors at Son Espases who, throughout Mohamed’s stay, were very kind to us."

The main suspect in the attack, Christian N., a 21-year-old Spaniard, will remain in custody until his trial, the date of which has not yet been set. He turned himself in to the police, accompanied by his lawyer, a week after committing the act.
