Family Charged in Brutal Death of Daughter-in-Law in Moroccan City

A young man, his mother and his little sister were brought before the Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Casablanca, on the charge of torture resulting in the death of their daughter-in-law.
The police received a call from the in-laws, on New Year’s Eve, concerning the death, under mysterious circumstances, of the widow who occupied an isolated room in their house in Mohammedia.
According to the first elements of the investigation, relayed by the daily Assabah, the victim, who bore traces of physical violence, would rather have died following an altercation with another person.
The in-laws were questioned during which all the members claimed that the victim had left the home around 10 a.m. and did not return until around 10 p.m. But this alibi did not convince the investigators.
New data confirmed to the investigators the involvement of the in-laws, especially since the victim had not left the home on the day of her death. Confronted with this truth, the little sister confessed to the agents that her mother and brother had come to blows with the victim, who had collapsed after receiving blows.
