Marrakech Mother and Child Homeless After Family Dispute, Seeks Travel Permission

A young woman living in Marrakech found herself on the street overnight, accompanied by her 5-year-old daughter, after being sent away from the marital home by her husband.
In a video circulated on social networks, the young mother, forced by her in-laws to leave the house, said she had nowhere to stay in Marrakech, and that due to the state of emergency, she was unable to join her parents in Boujdour.
Fearing the worst for her young daughter, the young woman is appealing to the authorities for leniency to allow her to go to her parents in southern Morocco, to avoid a life of homelessness.
Her call found a favorable echo with the local authorities and the city’s police services, who provided her with a small vehicle to transport her belongings, pending a possible resolution to her situation.
