Rejected Suitor Sets Girlfriend Ablaze in Deadly Attack Near Nador, Morocco

After refusing his marriage proposal, a young man committed a massacre in El Aroui, near Nador. He set fire to his girlfriend and her mother, resulting in the death of the former and serious burns to the latter.
Aged 24, the individual sprayed the bodies of his victims with gasoline before setting them on fire. Taken to the emergency room of the hospital, the young girl succumbed to her injuries while the mother is still in intensive care, reports the website Akhbarona.
An investigation has been opened by the police, who managed to arrest the accused in the afternoon of Tuesday, December 7, in order to determine the motives for the murder.
According to the initial elements of the investigation, the individual would have committed his act, after being rejected by the victim’s family, who had not appreciated, it is said, the non-compliance with the usual customs.
