Family Attempts Prison Break at Casablanca Hospital After Inmate Gives Birth

Members of a family in Casablanca tried to free a detainee who had just given birth at the Al Mansour hospital, but they were stopped in their tracks by the police officer in charge of the guard.
A busy day at the Al Mansour hospital in Sidi Bernoussi. On Thursday, members of a patient-detainee’s family violated the rules regarding hospitalized detainees, by trying to access her room, after she had given birth, reports Assabah. They had come to free her.
The events took place during visiting hours. The patient’s brother and father went to the hospital to free her. The young man trampled on the security instructions on the premises, and assaulted the police officer in charge of the guard. The two individuals did not succeed in their attempt, as the security guards of the establishment were able to neutralize them.
Informed, the elements of the judicial police of Sidi Bernoussi quickly arrived on the scene. They arrested the two individuals and took them to the police station. For now, they have been placed in custody as part of the investigation opened under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office.
