False beards and mustaches: The crazy scheme of drug traffickers foiled in Casablanca

The members of this organization used advanced concealment methods to deceive the vigilance of the security services, reports Assabah, cited by Le360. The scheme was based on the systematic change of trucks and drivers between the different cities during the transport of the cargoes. To confuse the intelligence and judicial roadblocks, the traffickers used accessories such as artificial beards and mustaches, while frequently changing clothes at each stage of the journey.

The investigators observed that the suspicious vehicle, coming from the north of the country, made frequent stops in deserted areas to transfer the drugs to other trucks of different brands. This maneuver aimed to invalidate the prior information held by the law enforcement authorities on the type of vehicle or the identity of the drivers. Despite these fraud techniques, the coordination between the units of the Royal Gendarmerie made it possible to identify the structure of the criminal operation.

The chase ended on the outskirts of Casablanca, more precisely in the Khayyata region. After a chase on the highway, the driver was surrounded in a field as he tried to flee. Two individuals were arrested during this intervention.
