Fake Prosecutor Arrested in Morocco: Accomplices Sought in Casablanca Scam

The elements of the judicial police of Berrechid managed to arrest a fake deputy prosecutor who was operating in Casablanca. This man, with an already well-stocked criminal record, was placed in pre-trial detention. A national arrest warrant has been issued against his accomplices.

Following the filing of several complaints from victims swindled by two fake prosecutors, including a woman, the public prosecutor had ordered the opening of an investigation, which was entrusted to the judicial police of Berrechid. The latter was able to geolocate the smartphone of the main accused, a fifty-year-old man with a criminal record. He will be arrested.
During the searches of his home, several documents belonging to his victims, to whom he had promised a job or an intervention to help them settle pending cases in the courts, were seized. Placed in custody, the defendant denounced his accomplices. Among them, a woman who was posing as a deputy king’s prosecutor and playing the role of intermediary between the fake prosecutors and the victims, reports Al Akhbar.
The criminal record of the defendant shows several mentions for fraud and usurpation of functions governed by the law. On the orders of the public prosecutor near the court of first instance of Berrechid, he was placed in pre-trial detention last Saturday. He is being prosecuted in custody for usurpation of function. As for his accomplices, a national arrest warrant has been issued against them.
