Moroccan Police Bust Fake COVID-19 Test Ring in Fez Airport Sting Operation

The judicial police services of Fez succeeded in dismantling a network of fake Covid-19 tests led by a fake reporter-photographer. The latter and an employee of a private clinic were arrested. The investigation continues.
It all started with the seizure of fake tests at Fès-Saiss airport. Travelers leaving for Europe had bought these tests from an analysis laboratory located in Meknes. The judicial police services of Fez set up a plan to dismantle this traffic. A person contacts the employee of the reported laboratory and pretends to be a traveler. The employee offers him a fake test for 600 DH. She will be arrested in the act.
What next? On Thursday, the police arrested an individual nicknamed "Eye of the Sloughi". A fake journalist-photographer who would be running the fake test network and operating with the complicity of the arrested employee. His target: tourists and travelers whose stay in the region was coming to an end. He offered them fake PCR tests to facilitate their exit from the territory. The police services did not take long to arrest him. During his arrest, they found blank signed certificates, as well as others torn up.
For now, the investigators are continuing their investigations in order to arrest other individuals belonging to this network of fake Covid-19 tests.
