Laboratory Worker Arrested in Morocco for Falsifying COVID-19 Test Results

A woman working in a medical analysis laboratory in Meknes was arrested by the police for her alleged involvement in a case of falsification of Covid-19 screening tests.
The arrest of this employee follows the arrest of a number of passengers at Fès-Saïss airport with fake test results. The research and investigations led the police to the employee, who was caught red-handed falsifying a certificate she was about to provide to a patient for a sum of 600 DH.
The technical expertise carried out by the judicial police on the suspect’s phone made it possible to note that she is a habitual offender of the acts she is accused of. Many false documents bearing a set of identities were found in her possession. The police are currently conducting checks to determine the ways in which they were exploited.
The suspect was taken into custody and made available to the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office. Convinced that the suspect is part of a network, the police have intensified the search to apprehend any possible accomplices.
