End of the run for a French drug trafficker in Morocco
The Moroccan police arrested on Wednesday at Rabat-Salé airport a French national of 38 years old who was the subject of an international arrest warrant. The individual is suspected of international drug trafficking and money laundering by France.
The intervention was carried out by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) as soon as the suspect landed on an international flight. The identity of this 38-year-old man was confirmed during routine border checks through consultation of Interpol databases.
The person concerned was the subject of a red notice issued at the request of the National Central Bureau of Paris. This international alert aimed at the execution of a custodial sentence pronounced by a French court, following activities related to organized crime.
According to the Moroccan authorities, the French justice system accuses the suspect of belonging to a structured criminal network. He is involved in international drug trafficking and the illicit circulation of psychotropic substances, as well as large-scale money laundering operations.
The French national is now awaiting extradition to France.
