US Embassy in Rabat Illuminated with Moroccan Flag Colors to Mark Independence Milestone

The United States Embassy in Rabat celebrated the anniversary of the presentation of the Manifesto of Independence on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, by illuminating itself in the colors of the Moroccan flag.
The United States once again shows that it attaches importance to the relationship it has with Morocco. On Tuesday, their embassy in Rabat was illuminated in the colors of the Moroccan flag on the occasion of the commemoration of the presentation of the Manifesto of Independence.
The United States and Morocco maintain good relations. In December, they congratulated the kingdom on its counterterrorism policy and welcomed the good bilateral cooperation in this area. American diplomacy welcomed in particular the work of the Moroccan airport authorities who have "an excellent capacity to detect fraudulent documents".
In December 2020, the United States recognized Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara in exchange for the normalization of its diplomatic relations between the kingdom and Israel. In the wake of this, a map of Morocco integrating the Sahara had been adopted. The three parties had signed a tripartite agreement on December 22, 2020, the first anniversary of which was celebrated by videoconference. "The sky is the limit" of the partnership between Morocco, the United States and Israel, and this "win-win" trilateral relationship "can be pushed further, according to the vision of King Mohammed VI," "for the well-being and prosperity of our people and our nations," said the Moroccan Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita.
