Dutch-Registered Vehicle Caught Smuggling 20 Kilos of Cannabis into Spain

A Moroccan residing in the Netherlands was arrested on Friday morning in Ceuta for drug trafficking. He had a large quantity of drugs that he was trying to smuggle into Algeciras.
During a check of vehicles leaving for Algeciras, a sniffer dog alerted the agents to the possible presence of narcotics inside a Volkswagen Passat registered in the Netherlands.
The police then proceeded to search the vehicle, discovering a large quantity of drugs hidden in the gear lever compartment. In total, nearly 20 kilos of cannabis resin were seized. Born in 1975, the Moroccan was legally residing in the Netherlands.
Arrested, he was made available to the justice system as the presumed perpetrator of a crime against public health. The vehicle was also seized.
