Moroccan Driver Arrested in Ceuta with 79 Kilos of Hashish Bound for Spain

The Civil Guard arrested on Monday in the port area of Ceuta a Moroccan transporting 79 kilos of hashish on board his French-registered vehicle, destined for Algeciras. He is accused of a presumed crime against public health.
The Moroccan was arrested as he was about to board a ferry to Algeciras with his Volkswagen Passat registered in France, reports Ceuta Al Dia. Thanks to the alert given by the sniffer dog, the agents carried out a thorough search of the car, discovering the drug hidden in a false bottom under the car next to the tank.
After finding that it was cannabis resin, the agents proceeded to arrest the Moroccan, who was made available to the competent judicial authority. He is accused of a presumed crime against public health. The seized drug was transferred to the health area of the government delegation, pending its destruction.
