Drunk Driver Kills Motorcyclist in Spain, Flees Scene Before Arrest

A 36-year-old Moroccan, drunk and under the influence of drugs at the wheel of a car, caused a fatal accident in Bellpuig (northern Spain). The justice ordered his provisional detention.
The Moroccan fled after fatally hitting a 58-year-old motorcyclist on the A-2 in Bellpuig (Urgell). He was later arrested by the Mossos d’Esquadra who found him a few kilometers from the scene of the accident. He was in a serious state of drunkenness and tested positive for cocaine, according to COPE.

The driver of the two-wheeled vehicle, a resident of Lleida, was taken to the Vilanova hospital where he eventually died. Accused of negligent homicide, drunk driving and drug use, the Moroccan was placed in provisional detention by the competent court.
