Two Workers Die in 10-Meter Fall at Spanish Steel Factory

Two workers from a factory in Burgos, including a Moroccan, lost their lives after falling 10 m from a roof that collapsed while they were working on it.
The two workers from the Gonvarri steel and aluminum factory, a Romanian and a Moroccan aged 28 and 42, were working on a roof when the corrugated sheets gave way and caused their fall from a height of 10 meters. Both died on the spot, confirms to AS, Daniel de la Rosa, the mayor of the city of Burgos. The local authorities are trying to locate their respective families to inform them of the sad news and express their compassion and support.

For its part, the General Union of Workers (UGT) of Castilla y León has expressed its "consternation and concern" in the face of yet another fatal work accident. With the deaths of these two workers, the number of victims of work accidents who have already lost their lives has risen to 29.
The Burgos firefighters were called in to secure the accident site. The investigation is ongoing to determine the causes of this fatal fall in this factory that had to close its doors this week to carry out some renovation work.
