A mixed brigade composed of customs agents and others from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in charge of controlling vehicles crossing the port of Tanger Med to Europe intercepted a freight vehicle destined for Gibraltar containing nuts stuffed with cannabis resin. 3kg of drugs were seized and the driver was arrested.
A rather surprising discovery at the port of Tanger Med. A shipment containing 3 kg of cannabis hidden in small nuts. The goods were supposed to arrive in Gibraltar but control agents suspected its nature, reports Assabah. A routine check proved necessary. With the help of sniffer dogs from the canine brigade and the scanning of a scanner, the suspicions were confirmed. The security services proceeded to a manual inspection of the goods, and discovered that the nuts were stuffed with cannabis resin.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 3 kilograms of cannabis resin and the arrest of the vehicle driver, a 36-year-old Moroccan. After his arrest, he was questioned by the elements of the judicial police brigade of Tanger Med. He hinted that he was unaware that the nuts contained cannabis.
