Drug Baron Arrested for Brutal Murder of Former Associate Near Settat, Morocco

A drug baron in the town of El Borouj, in the province of Settat, brutally murdered one of his collaborators on Sunday after the latter decided to stop this illegal trafficking.
The head of the criminal network, accompanied by his son and an accomplice, went to the victim’s home during the night from Saturday to Sunday. After assaulting him with a knife, they forcibly took him to an isolated place where they tortured him to death, reports Assabah. Left for dead, the collaborator was found moribund in the early morning and taken to the hospital where he died.
Having fled after his heinous act, the baron was eventually arrested. In his defense, he claimed that the victim was having a relationship with his wife and that he killed her to cleanse his honor. A version denied by the woman who told the investigators that the defendant was drunk when he arrived at the house that day and that he had even assaulted her.
The baron would not be at his first fit of madness, the sources of the daily newspaper indicate, specifying that he would have already inflicted the same fate on several of his collaborators who had decided to move away from this drug trafficking. One of them died in a mysterious road accident, a case that has never been solved.
