Moroccan Officials Jailed in Connection with Saharan Drug Lord Investigation

Two Moroccan personalities, suspected of being linked to a drug baron in the Sahara, spent their first night in the Oukacha prison in Casablanca.
Questioned yesterday for several hours by the Attorney General of the King near the Court of Appeal of Casablanca, Abdenbi Bioui, President of the Oriental region, was placed in detention at the Oukacha prison. He would be involved in a drug case of the one who is nicknamed the Malian or the Escobar of the Sahara.
The prosecutor also decided to place Saïd Naciri, president of the Wydad Casablanca club, in detention in the same prison for his alleged involvement in this case.
In total, 29 people were presented to the prosecutor on Thursday, some of whom were already incarcerated. They are all suspected of being linked to or having dealt with the drug baron. Among them, police officers and gendarmes who would have benefited from his generosity.
