Moroccan Drug Lord Implicates Parliament Member in International Trafficking Ring

The head of a criminal organization specialized in hashish trafficking implicated an elected member of parliament from the Southern Provinces during an interrogation by police officers.
In front of the investigators of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ), he stated that this member of parliament was linked to an international drug trafficking network. The identity of the member of parliament has not been disclosed, but he is suspected of associating with a drug baron sentenced to 12 years in prison, reports Assabah.
A confrontation is scheduled for December 18, 2023 before the Chamber of Financial Crimes in Rabat, where the judges will have to unravel the contradictions in the statements of the mafia boss. The latter is said to have changed his version several times.
The story of the mafia boss, known only by his initials F.A, is worthy of a thriller. After his arrest, he revealed the names of 76 officials, including police officers and customs officers. His arrest followed a major seizure of hashish in 2016 at the Tanger Med port. This drug was destined for Europe. F.A was then under an arrest warrant, wanted for his involvement in this case.
The story becomes even more complicated when F.A admits to having collaborated in 2019 with another trafficker, identified by the initials A.K. After a disagreement with A.K, F.A was recruited by the head of the network, already convicted, to take care of the logistical operations related to the hashish trafficking.
