Former Moroccan Lawmaker Arrested at Border for Misusing Official Passport While Intoxicated

The police arrested today a former MP from the Istiqlal Party, suspected of having used his service passport as a parliamentarian while he had lost his status as a deputy. The man was in a state of intoxication.
According to sources close to the investigation cited by Alyaoum24, the former MP had been dismissed by the Constitutional Court and was returning from Melilla, Spain, through the Beni Ansar checkpoint. When asked for his identity, he presented his passport reserved for parliamentarians and is said to have become angry with the security agents, even going so far as to try to assault them while he was intoxicated.
Faced with this situation, the police immediately arrested him and opened an investigation for identity theft and insulting a civil servant. He will have to answer for his actions before the justice system.
