Domestic Violence Tragedy in Spain: Man Kills Wife in Front of Children, Surrenders to Police

A 38-year-old Moroccan turned himself in to the Civil Guard on Monday after killing his 44-year-old Moroccan wife in front of their three children, at their home on Ronda San Julián street in Tarancón (Cuenca).
The lifeless body of the woman was found in the home after her husband turned himself in to the Civil Guard for his crime. The couple’s three children (5, 4 and 2 years old), who were in the apartment at the time of the events, were taken care of by social services, reports Nius.

The woman had reported the Moroccan for domestic violence in 2016, and had obtained a restraining order against him from the judge, which expired last March.
The mayor of the city, José Manuel López Carrizo, and the government delegate in Castilla-La Mancha, Francisco Tierraseca, condemned this sexist crime. The local police cordoned off the area, pending the transfer of the body. An investigation has been opened to determine the motives for the murder.
