Deadly Bus Crash in Morocco: 11 Killed as Driver Attempts Flooded River Crossing

While connecting Casablanca to Rissani, a bus ended up in a flooded river, at the level of the Oued Demchane bridge, near Errachidia, leaving 11 dead and about 20 injured.
The video of the accident shows the driver’s blatant recklessness. To save the thirty or so passengers, the strong mobilization of the Civil Protection services, as well as elements of the Royal Gendarmerie, was necessary.
Several ambulances were mobilized to transport the injured to the Errachidia Provincial Hospital, while at the same time the search and rescue operations continued to recover the bodies of the drowned passengers.
For some time now, the southern regions of Morocco have been suffering from the ravages of torrential rains. A situation that causes the flooding of several rivers.
