Death Toll Rises to 6 in Moroccan Bus Crash as Rescuers Find More Bodies

The bodies of three other missing persons, following the fall of a bus at the level of the Oued Damchan bridge, in the province of Errachidia, have been found, according to the authorities of the wilaya of the Drâa Tafilalet region.
These search and rescue operations, carried out by the various forces concerned, have borne fruit. They made it possible to find, on Sunday, September 8, the bodies of these three missing persons, reports the MAP. However, these operations continue thanks to the necessary human and logistical resources mobilized for this purpose, the same media points out.
For the time being, a provisional report indicates six dead and 27 passengers rescued in the drama of this bus, which was on the route between Casablanca and Rissani. Earlier in the day, the search teams had recovered the bodies of two people among the missing passengers.
On the side of the authorities, all necessary measures are taken to have the injured people in this accident treated, reassures the Regional Director of Health in Drâa-Tafilalet, Khalid Salmi.
According to the same source, the regional services of the Ministry of Health, once informed of the tragedy, mobilized a medical and nursing team that went to the scene of the accident to take care of the injured people, in addition to the visit to the bedside of the victims, carried out by the wali of the Drâa-Tafilalet region, and the Governor of the province of Errachidia, Yahdih Bouchâab.
In addition, the director reported the mobilization of ambulances from the Ministry of Health and Civil Protection, as well as those from certain municipalities in the region to transport the victims to the Moulay Ali Cherif Regional Hospital, which welcomed 29 injured, one of whom was placed in intensive care while the other 28 cases do not cause any concern.
Khalid Salmi did not fail to point out that all the injured people benefited from the necessary medical examinations and analyzes at the indicated hospital, where they are still under medical control.
