Customs Seize 50 Kilos of Cannabis in Basque Country Truck Bust

A Moroccan national was arrested by customs in the Basque Country with a cargo of 50 kilos of cannabis carefully hidden in the truck he was driving.
Estimated at 89,000 euros, the cannabis cargo was found in the truck of the Moroccan national during the control operation on the Biriatou highway. Aged 36, he resides in Spain and has no criminal record, reports Sud Ouest.
Summoned to appear immediately before the Bayonne Judicial Court, he admitted the facts he is accused of. He also asked the judge for time to prepare his defense. His request was accepted, but he is being held in pre-trial detention. The date of the next hearing is set for February 6.
