Moroccan Man Arrested in Melilla Smuggling Hashish Hidden in Baguettes

The Civil Guard arrested in Melilla a 51-year-old Moroccan resident in Murcia as he was about to board a boat to Malaga with 260 balls of Moroccan hashish hidden in mini baguettes.
The Moroccan was arrested on the night of September 22nd during the passenger check before boarding the ship to Malaga, according to a spokesman for the Melilla Command. The Civil Guard agents, alerted by the private security agent who found the Moroccan suspicious, inspected his suitcase, which contained nothing unusual, reports 20minutos.

One of the agents then asked to check the bread baguettes wrapped in aluminum foil that the Moroccan was holding in his hands. That’s where they discovered the balls, hidden inside the breads, and whose color and odor clearly indicated that they were hashish. A hypothesis confirmed after analysis of the substance containing hashish pollen.
In total, two kilograms and eight hundred and thirty grams of hashish, divided into 260 balls, were seized and made available to the competent court, which also ordered the detention of the Moroccan as the presumed perpetrator of an offense against public health.
