COVID-19 Outbreak Among Migrants in Southern Morocco as Cases Rise Nationwide

37 would-be illegal immigrants arrested in Tarfaya were declared positive for covid-19, between Saturday June 20 at 5 p.m. and Sunday June 21 at 10 a.m., in the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region.
With these new cases, the number of positive covid-19 cases in the Laâyoune - Sakia Al Hamra region has risen to 44.
According to the latest report published by the Ministry of Health on its covid-19 platform, Morocco recorded 118 new cases, between Saturday June 20 at 5 p.m. and Sunday June 21 at 10 a.m., bringing the total number of infections in the kingdom to 9,957.
During this period, 26 new recoveries were also noted, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 8,249.
