COVID-19 Outbreak Among Medical Staff at Tangier Hospital Raises Alarm

The massive screenings carried out in companies are at the origin of the new coronavirus infections in Morocco. Dozens of positive cases were recorded, last Sunday and Monday, among the nursing staff of the Tangier hospital.
These 16 new cases confirmed with covid-19 at the Mohammed V regional hospital in Tangier worry the National Union of Public Health, recalls the daily Assabah. According to him, this situation could turn into a nightmare.
These infections are found among doctors, nurses, administrative staff and cleaning staff. The managers of this hospital center decided to carry out these tests, Sunday, June 28 and Monday, June 29, following the symptoms presented by some of these members of the staff.
As soon as their condition was confirmed, the health protocol established by the health authorities was administered to all these infected members. They were all treated with hydroxychloroquine and then placed in quarantine.
According to the same daily, the National Union of Public Health has called for more controls at the Mohammed V hospital, which has now become the nerve center of the city of Tangier. The union also demanded that maximum safety conditions be guaranteed for professionals and patients.
