Tangier COVID Crisis Deepens: Calls Grow for Emergency Field Hospital

Many health professionals and civil society actors have called for the installation of a field hospital in Tangier where the epidemiological situation is most worrying.
In Tangier, the epidemiological situation is clearly escaping the health authorities. The health status of some patients, including newborns hospitalized in their first week, is deteriorating due to the laxity of the authorities, the lack of medical staff, reports Al Massae. Not to mention the absence of a general practitioner.
According to the testimony of residents of a hospital just outside Tangier, only medical students and local staff of the Moroccan Red Crescent, whose skills are limited, are caring for the patients. Among these patients are diabetics, patients with cardiovascular or respiratory problems whose health condition is critical.
The regional director of Health in the city has shown incompetence in managing the epidemiological situation in Tangier, explains a medical source. This is what led the Ministers of the Interior and his colleague of Health to re-confine Tangier.
Faced with this unsavory situation, health professionals and civil society actors are calling for the installation of a field hospital in Tangier.
