Tangier Hospital Opens 48-Bed Unit for Severe COVID-19 Cases

The Mohammed VI Hospital in Tangier has a new medical unit for the management of moderate and severe Covid-19 cases. This center was inaugurated on Thursday.
It is a 48-bed service, in individual rooms equipped with respiratory assistance devices and vital sign monitors, allowing patients to be monitored and cared for under the best conditions, explains the Regional Director of Health in Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, Dr. Ouafae Ajnaou. Admitted are patients in urgent need of oxygen, those suffering from chronic diseases, as well as elderly people whose health condition requires intensive care.
This center comes to relieve the hospitals in Tangier, whose three intensive care units are dedicated to severe and critical cases, explained Dr. Ouafae Ajnaou. For his part, the director of the Mohamed VI hospital calls on Moroccans to respect preventive measures (social distancing, wearing masks, etc.). This is the best way to support the efforts of local and health authorities in the fight against the virus.
