Coronavirus Outbreak Hits Tangier Prison: 20 New Inmates Test Positive

Several cases of coronavirus have been recorded among newly incarcerated inmates at the local prison in Tangier.
46 new inmates at the local prison in Tangier underwent this test, of whom 29 tested positive. A second test revealed only 20 confirmed infections, the prison establishment said. The infected inmates will be transferred to the public hospital to undergo the treatment protocol set up by the health authorities. Indeed, the new cases of coronavirus infection recorded in the prison establishment are among the new inmates. This is what the management of the local prison of Tangier 1 indicates.
Also, the director of the local prison of Tangier 1 affirms that the allegations that instructions have been given not to submit the inmates to the virus screening test are unfounded. However, the responsibility lies with the competent health authority to carry out these tests.
Note that the public hospital will welcome the infected inmates to undergo the treatment measures put in place by the authorities, notes La Map.
