COVID-19 Outbreak Hits Moroccan Prisons: 11 Cases Confirmed Among Staff and Inmates

The General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) stated on Sunday, April 19, 2020, that eleven people have tested positive for coronavirus in prisons. These are nine officials and two inmates.
In detail, three officials in the Oudaya prison in Marrakech, four officials within the local prison of Ksar Kébir, two inmates in the same establishment, the director of the local prison of Ouarzazate and an official in the same prison, were also tested positive this Sunday, April 19, specifies the DGAPR in a press release.
The infected officials have been subjected to the treatment protocol adopted by the health authorities, while the others have been placed in quarantine at their homes.
