COVID-19 Outbreak at Berrechid Psychiatric Hospital Sparks Concern and Criticism

The psychiatric hospital in Berrechid has recorded 22 positive cases and two deaths. This alarming situation, due to the lack of quality human resources, has provoked the anger of civil society and health sector unions.
This psychiatric center could become a Covid-19 hotspot, due to the ward reserved for the elderly and abandoned, which has the most active cases, reports Al Akhbar. The alert was sounded by Hassan Rami, a trade unionist and health sector activist on social networks.
In his outburst, he denounced the redeployment policy of the staff of this health facility where executives, doctors and nurses are assigned to the Covid-19 health facilities in El Jadida and the provincial hospital of the city, while others have been identified to strengthen the teams in charge of the vaccination campaign.
For the trade unionist, this situation could have serious repercussions on the residents of the Berrechid psychiatric hospital. He also calls on the health authorities to take this problem to heart and act immediately to rectify the situation.
