New US Consulate Complex in Casablanca to Break Ground in 2020

Construction work on the new premises of the US Consulate General in Casablanca should begin in the second half of 2020.

To attract Moroccan companies capable of building this new complex, a meeting was initiated with about fifteen of them, indicates the MAP. This meeting aims to arouse the interest of companies and suppliers wishing to participate in the construction of the new building. The same source reveals that the Consul, Jennifer Rasamimanana, and her team hope to move to the new premises soon, planned to occupy nearly 3 hectares of the Casa-Anfa area, near the site of the former Casablanca airport.

Given the changes in this city, the Consul believes that the diplomatic establishment must also meet the criteria of a world-class establishment: "We are very excited about this project, which represents a significant commitment to continue to develop and strengthen the historic partnership between the United States and Morocco," she added.

Composed of several buildings, this new modern, mixed-use complex is located a few minutes’ walk from two Tramway stations. It was designed by the architectural firm that set up the project, after traveling through Morocco, to include design elements inspired by Moroccan architectural traditions.
