Ex-Chelsea Star Joe Cole Slams Ziyech and Pulisic After Man City Defeat
Former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole has strongly criticized the performances of Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech and his teammate Christian Pulisic, after their club’s defeat to Manchester City (0-1) last Saturday.
Manchester City defeated Arsenal (2-1) in the Premier League on January 1st for the 21st matchday, and defeated Chelsea (1-0) last Saturday. Former Blues midfielder Joe Cole commented on these two matches. According to him, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic were not as influential as the Gunners’ Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli were against the Red Devils. "I think the difference between Arsenal’s performance and Chelsea’s performance was the performances of Martinelli, Saka in the Arsenal game," he said on BT Sport.
"Today, Pulisic and Ziyech were not in their best form and I think when you talk about the structure of the team, that’s where Chelsea were lacking a bit. When they had the ball in midfield, and then it went to Pulisic and Ziyech and they didn’t find the right pass," he added.
