2M Channel Unveils Diverse Ramadan Programming to Inform and Unite Viewers

2M is updating its program grid to accompany its viewers throughout the holy month of Ramadan. The second national channel is following in the footsteps of Al Aoula, and promises a diverse and warm program.

This new "special Ramadan" grid is an opportunity for 2M to meet the needs of viewers, through the implementation of service programs, health, practical advice or religious issues. "In this context of global uncertainty, conducive to the spread of unfounded rumors and fake news, the profession of informing and raising awareness is a duty and an immense responsibility of which we are fully aware and for which the entire 2M team is mobilizing with professionalism and dedication," said Salim Cheikh, CEO of 2M, in a press release.

The Moroccan channel has beefed up its offering with fiction, short formats, humor, drama, culinary capsules, cultural events, debate magazines, reflecting the entire Moroccan sociocultural diversity. In short, throughout the month of Ramadan, 2M will be television in a different way. Some series of national productions are announced to brighten up the daily life of viewers.

These include the ftour series "La coopérative" which tells "the eventful life of an agricultural cooperative founded by the women of a village in the Middle Atlas". The series "Assir Almadfoune" which tells "the return to the neighborhood of Othmane, after ten years of absence, following the murder of his best friend of which he was accused", will also be part of it. The social drama "Héritage"* which revolves around "Lhaj Ammar, a patriarch who runs everything with an iron fist and who, faced with his impending death, must choose a successor", is also announced. Another choice from local production: the sociological thriller "Alghariba", which brings to life "the journey of Souad, a fighting woman who has succeeded abroad and is confronted with a difficult return to the country". Viewers are also invited to make an appointment with "Zhar lbatou", a historical drama, where "the epic traditions of the great Moroccan South are embodied in the beautiful l’Batoul, promised to the noble Nasser, caïd of Tafilalet".

The famous hidden camera "Mchiti Fiha" has not been forgotten. Every day after ftour, with new traps that will test the composure of Moroccan celebrities in an atmosphere of humor and conviviality. On the "Tendance" show, which will be broadcast every Friday evening, Hassan El Fad "will scrutinize Moroccan society and have fun mocking everyday life situations through a gallery of hilarious characters and quirky portraits".

The channel director explained that in the current context where the pandemic has established an atmosphere of fear, anxiety and mistrust, it is important for 2M to "bring Moroccans together by giving the best possible. Building on the excellent results and positive feedback from previous years, we have invested to offer the public a unifying medium, a link, a space for debate, meeting, exchange and dialogue," he added.
