Casablanca Tramway Expansion Delays Spark Public Frustration

Casablancans are living to the rhythm of the tramway delays. The lines 3 and 4, initially scheduled for last June, are slow to materialize, causing growing discontent.
Despite the installation of modern devices in the stations and the opening of automatic ticket offices, Casablancans are struggling to understand the reasons for these delays. The lack of official communication from the company in charge of transportation exacerbates the situation, laments Aljarida24.
The consequences are already being felt. The congestion of the existing lines, combined with the difficulties encountered with other modes of transport such as taxis, makes travel increasingly complicated. Casablancans have to face longer journeys and often inadequate service, especially during peak hours.
This discontent is expressed more and more openly, both in daily conversations and on social networks. Residents are questioning the authorities’ ability to carry out their projects and are demanding clear explanations.
The municipal opposition has not failed to seize the subject, denouncing a lack of respect for the commitments made to citizens and a worsening of the transport crisis. The elected officials are demanding answers and a precise schedule for the commissioning of the new lines.
The wali of the region, Mohammed Mhidia, has also shown impatience, urging the "Casa Transport" company to accelerate the work. Lines 3 and 4, which were supposed to connect strategic neighborhoods such as Derb Sultan, Mohammed V Avenue or Sidi Othmane, are eagerly awaited.
