Casablanca Tram Operator Unveils Expansion Plans for 2021 Despite Pandemic Setbacks

Casa Tramway is preparing to launch several construction sites for the year 2021. The company took the opportunity of its eighth anniversary to unveil its new ambitions to improve the service offered to the people of Casablanca.
After a year 2020 strongly impacted by Covid-19, Casa Tramway wants to offer new services to passengers, reports Aujourd’hui Le Maroc, specifying that the new strategy of the company is based on innovation and proactivity. Thus, Casa Tramway plans three new openings: that of a second Mobility House, Place Sraghna, another of a new commercial agency at the Sidi Bernoussi T2 terminus and the third, of a commercial agency within the Casa Voyageurs LGV station.
In addition, there are the launch of the works of the railway platform and infrastructure of four integrated multimodal lines, namely two busway lines (BHNS) 24 km long, scheduled for completion in 2022, and two tramway lines (T3 and T4) 22 km long (completion of works at the end of 2023). The company plans to strengthen its customer service with a support and service team at the station, then offer the possibility of recharging subscriptions on the website.
For the year 2019, more than 50 million passengers used the T1 and T2 lines, according to the statistics. In terms of safety and security, 780 cameras ensure surveillance on board the tramway, which has also opened "secure mobility for women". According to Casa Tramway, they represent 49% of users of this means of transport.
