Casablanca Police Officer Under Investigation for Alleged Bribery Scheme

A police officer, suspected of being involved in a corruption case, is the subject of an investigation opened by the Wilaya of the Casablanca security.
The case started with the arrest of a young man by the judicial police of Bernoussi, for a case described as minor, reports Assabah. The police officer in question is said to have offered the young man’s father to have his son released in exchange for 2,000 dirhams that he intended to give to the district chief.
A meeting between the two parties took place in front of the district headquarters. The father gave him the sum. The policeman assured him that he would only receive his commission after the release of his son. Except that the investigators got wind of the details of this meeting.
Questioned, the young man’s father acknowledged the facts, while the police officer in question has since disappeared. The latter is the subject of an investigation conducted by the officials of the Wilaya of the Casablanca security. The police went to his home to recover his service weapon.
