Fez Official Arrested for Bribery After Tip to Anti-Corruption Hotline

Another arrest to be credited to the toll-free number used to report acts of corruption. This time, the accused is a moqadem caught in the act of corruption.
A few days before the arrest of the moqadem in the act of corruption, the public prosecutor’s office had received a notification via the toll-free number issued by the owner of a traditional oven, accusing the accused of having demanded a bribe to allow him to operate an open door in the oven that serves as ventilation.
A judicial investigation ordered by the prosecution was opened by the judicial police of Fez and in collusion with the owner of the traditional oven, the moqadem was arrested in the act while receiving the sum of 500 dirhams.
Arrested, he was taken into custody and will be brought before the court at the end of the investigation opened and which will have to determine whether he has committed similar acts in the district where he operates.
