Casablanca Police Arrest 17 for Reckless Driving During Lockdown

Seventeen people were arrested on Wednesday for dangerous driving of their motorcycles or cars. This was during a security operation carried out by the traffic police under the Casablanca police prefecture.
In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) explained that its services had detected, using the surveillance cameras installed in several neighborhoods of the city, "a group of individuals who, while violating the state of health emergency, were deliberately driving their cars and large motorcycles dangerously and in a spectacular manner." An attitude that not only puts them in danger, but also poses a risk to the safety of people and property. This is what necessitated their arrest and the seizure of the vehicles they were driving, reports the MAP.
The seized vehicles were impounded to be subjected to technical and mechanical expertise later to ensure their condition and the volume of their cylinders, not to mention the verification of their ownership documents. As for the arrested drivers, they were placed in custody, pending preliminary investigations to determine all the criminal acts attributed to them.
