Moroccan Police Arrest 25, Seize 194 Vehicles in Crackdown on Illegal Street Racing

The crackdown on illegal street racing launched by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) has led to the arrest of 25 motorists and the seizure of 194 vehicles, after just one week of operation.
The DGSN had announced its intention to crack down on spectacular and dangerous driving observed at night in major cities. To this end, checks have been launched to track down and punish drivers.
During the first week of this campaign, the traffic police arrested and referred 25 people for driving that endangered people and property and disturbed public tranquility late at night, according to a DGSN statement.
The searches also led to the seizure of several vehicles suspected of being used for spectacular and dangerous driving, including 39 cars, 206 motorcycles and 14 tricycles. Among these vehicles, 194 were transferred to municipal warehouses.
By city, Casablanca leads in arrests and vehicle seizures, with 10 and 91 respectively, followed by Rabat with 5 offenders referred and 11 vehicles impounded. Then, in Fez, there were two arrests and three vehicles seized.
