Casablanca Police Arrest Armed Suspect After Video Goes Viral

Following the sharing of a video sequence on social media on Saturday, June 13, showing a man brandishing a weapon, the Casablanca police prefecture, it says, reacted very quickly.
The records kept by the Casablanca police prefecture services revealed that the facts of this case, documented by the aforementioned video, took place on Friday, June 12, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Sidi Bernoussi security district in Casablanca, explains the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release.
The investigation procedures have shown that the Casablanca security services had arrested, on Friday, the suspect, a 30-year-old repeat offender, after his involvement in another case related to domestic violence, public drunkenness and disorder on the public highway, specifies the DGSN.
The searches carried out at the home of the accused person residing in the Sidi Moumen district in Casablanca proved fruitful: in addition to the shotgun and metal ammunition that appear in the relayed video, an electric baton and a bladed weapon were seized.
Pending the elucidation of this case and the determination of all the criminal acts that could be imputed to him, the accused person was placed in police custody.
