Casablanca Neighborhood Quarantined as COVID-19 Cases Surge in Morocco

The Prefecture of Hay Mohammadi is now under surveillance. This decision was made due to the exponential increase in new infections observed in this locality of Casablanca.
Hay Mohammadi is one of the three prefectures under the scrutiny of the health authorities since the resurgence of new cases of infection, caused by the non-compliance with health measures.
The health authorities did not hesitate to isolate it from the rest of the administrative capital. They have tightened the restrictive measures around this area, which houses several infection hotspots.
As of August 9, the Prefecture of Ain Sebaa-Hay Mohammadi had 296 cases, 15 times more than on June 6, 2020. Yesterday, Wednesday, August 12, 2020, the economic capital, the epicenter of the coronavirus epidemic since early March, recorded 498 cases out of the 1,499 detected in the country.
