Morocco Reports Highest Daily COVID-19 Death Toll as Cases Surge

It is a sad record for Morocco on this day of August 18, 2020. The Kingdom has recorded 33 deaths in the last 24 hours, the highest figure since the start of the Covid-19 epidemic in the country.
Thus, the new coronavirus has caused 714 deaths since last March, a fatality rate of 1.6%, compared to an average of 4 to 5% worldwide.
Here are the key figures for Tuesday, August 18:
• 1,245 infections. Total to 44,803
• 33 deaths in 24 hours. Total to 714.
• 20,673 tests. Total to 1,603,925.
• 1,061 new recoveries. Total to 31,002.
• 13,087 patients currently under treatment, whether in hospitals for the most serious cases or at home for asymptomatic cases.
• 184 people in serious condition, including 36 intubated.
The region most affected on Tuesday is once again Casablanca-Settat, with 351 infections, mainly in the economic capital.
