Casablanca Launches Tender for High-Capacity Bus Lines, Aiming for 2021 Rollout

The SDL Casa-Transports has launched tenders for the diversion of underground networks on the trajectory of 2 high-level service bus (BHNS) lines. To this end, the contracts will be awarded in September and October 2019.
In total, 31 vehicles will be used to serve the 2 lines, in accordance with the consultation regulations. Seventeen BHNS will be dedicated to line 6 (delivery scheduled for June 2021) and 14 others for line 5 (with delivery scheduled for December 2021), reports L’économiste. Two additional tranches, or 9 additional vehicles, are also planned.
The opening of the bids is expected on October 8th next. And the successful bidder for this contract will have the task of designing and defining the interior and exterior design of the vehicles, which will be 21 to 24 m long. It will also be responsible for the commissioning of the future BHNS and the related services (in particular, the training of the operating staff, the maintenance, the tests, the guarantees and the insurances).
The two BHNS lines 1 and 2 serve a direct corridor with 300,000 inhabitants, the same source specifies. They will be equipped with a storage and maintenance center located in the Errahma district when they are put into service scheduled for 2021. No less than 1.8 billion DH will be invested.
