Casablanca Launches Pest Control Initiative to Combat Rats and Birds

Casablanca wants to put an end to rats and birds. In this regard, Casa Baia has launched a tender to select a company whose mission will be to propose an action plan to fight against harmful species.

Casa Baia will soon select through a tender a company that will be responsible for establishing a diagnosis and analyzing the sanitation situation of the activity areas for the fight against harmful species (rats, birds, rodents, insects, stray dogs and cats...) within the perimeters defined in each of the 16 districts of the city, reports L’Économiste. The bids will be opened on January 7th.

The successful bidder will be responsible for listing the lifestyle of the pests by area, their distribution, their shelters and breeding grounds, as well as the causes and their multiplication. These elements will make it possible to draw up descriptive sheets for each species.

As for the action plan, it will be based on a benchmark with two or three international cases. With the resulting findings, the company will be able to set long-term (three-year) control objectives for each species. This plan will have to take into account the reduction in the use of biocidal products, while promoting alternative solutions.

A sum of 390,000 DH will be awarded to the selected company for the completion of the two missions (diagnosis and action plan).
