Casablanca Launches Major Road Infrastructure Overhaul Ahead of 2030 World Cup

Casablanca is facing a major challenge: the fluidity of its traffic. Faced with dense traffic and daily traffic jams, the city has decided to undertake a radical transformation of its transport infrastructure. This vast modernization program aims to support urban changes and improve the quality of life of the Bidaouis.
One of the flagship projects concerns the improvement of the road axes at the entrance of Aïn Chock, in preparation for the 2030 World Cup. These works, which include in particular the strengthening of the infrastructure around the Grand Stade de Casablanca, should facilitate access to the metropolis from the Rabat-Casablanca motorway and the Berrechid-Casablanca motorway. The National Motorway Company of Morocco (ADM) is leading this strategic project, with a budget of 600 million dirhams.
In the southwest of Casablanca, National Road No. 1 is undergoing major widening work over a distance of five kilometers. This development aims to streamline travel between Casablanca and the province of Nouaceur, by improving the connection with areas such as Bouskoura, Errahma and Dar Bouazza. The cost of this project is estimated at 111 million dirhams.
In the Hay Hassani district, the construction of the HH26 road is underway. This project, which requires an investment of 120 million dirhams, is still in its early stages. However, it is part of an overall desire to improve connectivity between the different neighborhoods of Casablanca and to decongest the existing road axes.
In parallel with these construction sites, other large-scale projects are underway, such as the widening of Regional Road 320 and the doubling of National Road 1 and Provincial Road 3001. These works, representing a total investment of 2 billion dirhams, aim to strengthen the links between Casablanca and its surroundings. With a 35% completion rate, they should contribute to streamlining traffic and reducing travel times.
These initiatives reflect a desire to rethink mobility within the metropolis. Casablanca is banking on the modernization of its road network to offer its inhabitants more fluid and safer travel conditions.
